Not surprisingly, the Tennessee Walker horse is the state horse of Tennessee; and, as its name suggests, this horse is popular for walking. Bred in the southern part of the United States for plantation owners, this breed's unique walk is a comfortable gait for any rider. Taking it all in stride, Tennessee Walker horses are known for their good disposition and trainability. Between fifteen and seventeen hands, this horse generally weighs around one thousand pounds.
