Prehistoric Mammals

Somewhat resembling a camel, Macrauchenia walked on four long legs.

Much different than the 'mastodon' that Darwin fancied, Macrauchenia stood at five feet tall, at a length of ten feet. Capable of evading predators, this mammal was swift and made sharp turns thanks to its specialized ankles. Searching for food, Macrauchenia may have had a brownish coat to blend in with its surroundings and may have traveled with a herd.

Fun Facts: Macrauchenia was a bit smaller than the length of a compact car.
